Spiritual Well-Being: Self Care

I want to talk about spiritual well-being. First, I want to look up spiritual well-being to see what it means. Definition: Spiritual wellness is defined as expanding a sense of purpose and meaning in life, including one's morals and ethics. It may or may not involve religious activities. (Google)

We all know that God exists, and we see that in the things around us by looking at the created things that a mere man could not create. When we look at the sky, we know that we are living on planet earth. We can ask ourselves this question, where did seeds come from, and who created them? We know that God created them in the flowers, trees, fruits and vegetables, and all things that man could not create. When we look at the dirt on the ground, we know that man did not make it, but we do know that God created it, and created male from the dust of the ground.


For those of us who pray, that is a part of our spiritual well-being. Meditation is also part of spiritual well-being because you are connecting with your inner self; your inner spirit to take yourself to a higher plateau of oneself, it is becoming one with your spirit being. It is finding peace in yourself while living in a chaotic world.


Here are some examples of spiritual well-being:

Volunteering, being positive and optimistic, contributing to society, connecting with others, feeling a sense of belonging and practicing self-care. (Google)


When we think about it, we do those things every day. We do them when we do little things for someone to make them feel better when they are going through something. Doing little things or no matter what we do for someone, it makes us feel good about ourselves, and it makes the person, or people we are doing it for feel good about themselves too. Being happy with ourselves is a part of our spiritual well-being; and not only that, it is good for our heart and soul. When our heart is happy, we are happy, and in my eyes, the sun shines a little brighter.


Today when you start to feel down about something, just remember to think positive, smile, and everything will be alright. Just know that whatever is going on in your mind will soon pass unless it is held on to. Hold on to positivity and let go of negativity so your soul will shine like the sun.


How do you feel about self-care? What do you do to give yourself positive vibes? There is not anything wrong with self-care, if you do not take care of yourself then who will?
