The Reality of Love

The reality of love is being there for someone even though you know they don’t love you anymore. It is caring for them when you know they don't care for you. It is giving them your all to show them that you still care knowing that they never will. How can we feel something for someone when they feel nothing for us? How can we still open up our hearts and let them in when we know they are only going to hurt us? How can we show love to those who do not love us? Why do we keep letting ourselves get hurt by loveless people? I suppose it is because we wear our hearts on our sleeve. We give until it hurts, and we suffer because of it.

The reality of love is that it will not become better, or worse, but it is something that we decide we will or will not do. We can choose to live, or we can choose not to love, but whatever we decide, let it be to love one another as we should because love is all there is.
