The Importance of Remembrance

In the rush of December, it's easy to shelve the true gift of Christmas - reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. This season isn't just about traditions or festivities; it's about receiving and unwrapping the most profound gift ever given.
Think of it: while we were still God's enemies, Christ came to reconcile us. (Romans 5:10-11) This gift wasn't earned or deserved - it was freely given when we were at our weakest. Through Jesus, we don't just receive forgiveness; we receive God Himself. He is both the gift-giver and the gift.
But like any present, it must be received and opened. Don't let this gift sit unopened this Advent season. Take time daily to see and savor the glory of God in the face of Christ. Let the Holy Spirit pour God's love into your heart as you meditate on this truth: at just the right time, Christ died for the ungodly.
This Christmas, look to Jesus. Experience the gift of the savior. Let your heart exult in God through Christ. For in Him, we find our greatest treasure - not just peace with God, but God Himself as our eternal joy.
