The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in Glory: Revelation 19:11-16

For as long as I can remember, I have heard about the second coming of Jesus Christ. When we are children, we hear this and think that Jesus will come right then, but we were taught that He would come like a thief in the night. Growing up, I would watch the sky to see if He was on the way. I wondered if He was ever coming. As a child, I didn't understand that it would be one day, whether young or old, that He was coming when it came for Him to come, so I quit watching. To this very day, we all are still waiting for His return just as they did in the Bible days. Revelation tells us about the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in glory. I see that you are curious to know so, I am going to tell you straight from the Word of God.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written, that no man knew, but he. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

We know that John was called up into the Spirit and wrote what he was told to write because of the things he had seen and heard. Had not John been exiled on the Island of Patmos, we would not know about the things that are going to take place when Jesus returns. Everyting has been revealed to us through these words of prophecy. We cannot add to, or take from this precious Word. We know that Gods Words are true.

Let's think about this for a moment. How do you feel about knowing what you know now about the return of Jesus Christ? We face trials and tribulations from one day to the next. We do not ever know what is going to happen from one minute to the next, but God has given us clear instructions about what is going to take place, and where it is going to take place when Jesus returns. This is a war against good and evil. This is a war to rectify everything that is wrong on the earth. This war is going to be the war of all wars that will never be like those of the past. There will be a new heaven and a new earth for all of God's chosen people to live in peace and harmony, the New Jerusalem.

The lives we are living now is nothing compared to the lives we will live when we get to heaven to live with Jesus for all eternity. I don't always like to think about leaving the people I love behind, but it is a part of life. This is why I always say accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior while the blood is still running warm in your veins. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. A body without life cannot praise God, and cannot be saved. Once the heart stops the brain dies and life as you once knew is gone forever. It doesn't matter where you have been, where you are from, or what your race is, Jesus accepts all people because He died for all people. Accept Him today and choose life. You don't have to try to get yourself right before you go to God. He will clean up the mess in your life and give you a new life in Him forever.
