Calm: How To Manage Stress and Anxiety
Every day we face things that bring us stress and anxiety. We know that life can be hard because we live in an imperfect world where tragedies happen from one day to the next. We never know how things are going to be when we are awakened by our Creator. All we know is that we are awakened to a day we have never seen before.
Jesus and the disciples faced things that brought them stress and anxiety. Look at what the disciples had to endure every day, they were not allowed to preach in the name of Jesus, but they did it anyway knowing what was going to happen when they did, do you not think that was stressful, being beaten and thrown into jail? Jesus was filled with stress and anxiety when He was in the garden praying to God asking if the cup could pass from Him because of what He had to do, but He knew that God’s will had to be done. It was so bad that He started sweating blood.
When I think about everything that Jesus went through, what we face daily is nothing compared to what they went through. How can we find peace and be calm in the middle of stress and anxiety? How did they do it? They did it by focusing on Jesus in the middle of everything they were facing, and we can too.
Managing stress and anxiety is not easy when we try to do it on our own. We must first pray and give it all to Jesus, He is stronger than we are, and He can carry all of our stress and anxiety and give us peace. He will calm our spirits. We can sit in a quiet place and meditate. We can burn candles while listening to soft praise and worship music. We can read a passage of Scripture, or maybe even take a long walk. When we keep our focus on Jesus, we do not have to worry about stress, anxiety, or the problems that we are facing, so why stress about it? Why entertain anxiety? There are so many things we can do in this world other than stress out. You just have to find something that you enjoy doing and do it. Don’t let the sunny days pass you by.
Jesus can fix everything. We just have to believe that. We have to put all of our trust in Him, there’s nothing too hard for God.
I hope you have enjoyed the message. I pray you will seek God in everything you are going through. Do not let the Devil rob you of your joy, peace, and most of all being calm. I pray you have a blessed day every day. God bless you.❤️🙏🏾☮️
