Spiritual Fitness: Punching Out The Devil
Good evening everyone! Today is a beautiful day that God has given us to enjoy and praise Him, glory to God! Well, today's message is going to be about Spiritual Fitness: Punching Out The Devil.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for another beautiful day that You have blessed us to see. Thank you for watching over all of us. Thank You for Your continued protection, provision, love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Without You, there would be no us. Thank You for every season You allow us to enjoy. Thank You for Your Word that we may come to know You more. Thank You for Your Precious Son, Jesus Christ, who You sent to lay down His life for our sins, You didn't have to do it but You did. We are eternally grateful for everything You have done, doing, and will do. Thank You for loving us when we don't even deserve it. Thank You for being God and God alone, the One true living God who is the giver of all life. The Creator of everything. We give You all the praise, glory, and honor due to Your sweet name. Thank You, Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Here we are living in this day and time still going through trials and tribulations because of sin. We know that sin started in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Sin entered into the world, and it has been hell on earth since then, but God. God sent His one and only Son into this world to save us from our sins, how did He do it? He did it by death on a Roman Cross. But before that, Jesus fought the Devil by fighting with the Word of God.
Jesus was baptized by His cousin, John the Baptist in the Jordan River. After John baptized Jesus, the heavens opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from Heaven, saying, This is my beloved Sin, in whom I am well-pleased.
Now, we all know that Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Jesus fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempted (the devil) came to him and he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Jesus told him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
See, Jesus did not give in to the devil’s antics, He fought Him using the Word of God. This is what we must do even today, fight the devil using the Word of God.
There are more Scriptures in the Book of Matthew where Jesus used the Word of God to fight the Devil. When we open up the Word of God and read it, we can see how Jesus spoke with authority and boldness when it came to fighting the devil, especially when He was casting out evil spirits from people. The Word of God is living and powerful. It will change you in every way.
One thing I can say is that I am glad we can have it. There are places in the world where the Word of God is not allowed. That’s sad though because they do not have the Word to use to fight the devil.
Do not be afraid to use the Word of God. This is why we have it, but we also have it to learn how to live and treat others, how to love even our enemies. We were given the authority to speak boldly to God about our circumstances. We were not created to be timid and shaky when talking to our Savior, King Jesus.
We were created to praise God, and to give the devil a headache everyday, and that will only happy when we get down on our knees and pray to God. When we are being attacked, we need to pray and let God fight our battles for us. We can run to God and be safe. He will hide us under the shadow of His wings. God will always protect us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. We fight on our knees, and we praise God while we are fighting on our knees. God always wins the fight! We have nothing to fear, or be afraid of.
Punch out the devil using the Word of God! We win! The fight has already been won! Praise God forever and ever! Amen!
