Do we ever think about ourselves, or do we feel about others? Do we always put ourselves last to take care of others? Well, if so that’s good to a certain extent, but we have to think about ourselves. We have to take care of ourselves sometimes. We can’t always put ourselves last and forget about what we need to do for ourselves. We are important too. Yes, it is good to help others with what they are facing, but what about you when you are facing a crisis and there’s no one to help or be there for you? Take Care of You. You are important too.
Sometimes we forget about ourselves. We put on hold the things we want to do so others can do what they want to do; the majority of the time this happens in families and relationships. You can’t always say yes to someone just because they want you to do something for them when you know it is going to affect you in the long run.
There’s only one you. Think about what you want and focus on that. Think about how you are going to feel by putting yourself first. Love yourself. Be the best you that you can be all of the time. Take care of yourself by doing things that make you happy…that bring you joy. Take care of yourself because you have dreams and goals you want to see happen in your life. Take care of yourself because there’s only one you.
When things become difficult, don’t just shy away in the background, speak out, and speak up. Let your voice be heard. Do not ever feel like you do not matter because you do. Do not let others intimidate you. You do not have to be afraid of anyone or anything. Do not let fear stifle you. You are special and unique. You are one of a kind. You are brilliant.
Taking care of your mind is also important. You have to protect your thoughts from idle thinking. Do not let negativity in, block it out cast it out, and do not think about it. What you think about determines how you feel, and your attitude. It determines how you will respond to others. Try your best to stay positive even when things are turning sour. Something good has to come from it. At the end of it all, you can look back and see how God turned everything around for your good. So, remember, it is alright to love yourself and put yourself first after God.
