7-Day Self-Discovery Devotional & Journal Prompt Series
Theme: “Becoming Who God Always Knew I Was”
Day 1: Chosen, Not Chasing
Scripture: John 15:16 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you…”
Devotional Thought:
You are not chasing purpose — purpose is chasing you. You were chosen before you ever performed, perfected, or proved anything. Let go of striving. Embrace the truth: you’re already enough to begin.
Journal Prompt:
Where in my life am I still trying to “earn” my worth or calling?
What would it look like to live like I’m already chosen?
Day 2: The Ministry in My Mess
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Devotional Thought:
God is not embarrassed by your imperfection — He works through it. Your struggle is not your disqualification; it’s your credibility.
Journal Prompt:
What parts of my story have I seen as too broken to use?
What healing has come through those very places?
Day 3: My Voice Has Value
Scripture: Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
Devotional Thought:
You are a speaker of life — a vessel of truth, healing, and authenticity. But the first person your voice must minister to… is you.
Journal Prompt:
What are the most common things I say to myself?
How can I rewrite those words to align with how God sees me?
Day 4: A Mirror and a Light
Scripture: Matthew 5:14 – “You are the light of the world…”
Devotional Thought:
You were never meant to hide. Your honesty is a mirror that reflects truth, and your boldness is a light for those still trapped in shame.
Journal Prompt:
What gifts or truths have I been hiding?
Who might need the light that I carry?
Day 5: Imperfectly Whole
Scripture: Isaiah 64:8 – “We are the clay, and You are our potter…”
Devotional Thought:
Being imperfect does not mean you’re incomplete. God is shaping you — not breaking you. You are becoming whole, even when you feel in pieces.
Journal Prompt:
What parts of myself do I criticize the most?
How can I see those parts as places God is shaping?
Day 6: Sent to Speak
Scripture: Jeremiah 1:7 – “You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.”
Devotional Thought:
Your voice isn’t random. It’s sent. You carry something sacred — a message born from pain, recovery, and revelation.
Journal Prompt:
What truths do I feel most passionate about sharing with others?
How has my life prepared me to speak them?
Day 7: Becoming on Purpose
Scripture: Ephesians 2:10 – “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”
Devotional Thought:
You are not a mistake. You are a masterpiece in progress. Even your waiting seasons are part of your becoming.
Journal Prompt:
Where have I mistaken “waiting” for “wasting”?
What part of my journey do I now realize was preparation?
✨ Bonus: Identity Affirmations to Speak Daily
I am becoming who God always knew I was.
I am imperfect, but I am not disqualified.
I am chosen before I perform.
I am healing and still whole.
I am a voice of light, not silence.
